Different Types Floor Polishing Pads For Different Uses

Different Types Floor Polishing Pads For Different Uses

You'll find great use for floor polishing pads to speed up your work if you have a lot of floor space to clean and polish. Floor polishing pads are utilized mostly for cleaning in spaces as big as the floors in today's modern buildings but you can also use them to clean the floor in your own home.

You can find several types of floor polishing pads, each one corresponding to a particular use. If you need to refinish you floor, you'll have to get floor polishing pads designed for stripping. Such floor polishing pads will remove all of the existing finish, all accretions of wax from previous polishing jobs, and accumulated dirt, thus allowing you to apply your new finish and work on the original surface.

However, if you have stripped and refinished your floor recently, you can simply use a floor polishing pads designed for scrubbing, which thoroughly removes all dirt and a partial layer of finish; this is done usually on heavily soiled surfaces.

You can use special floor polishing pads for buffing. The buffing pads are used for cleaning, repairing, and restoring scratched finishes. These types of floor polishing pads are generally made from nylon fibers. They function similarly to floor stripping pads, but buffing pads perform less abrasion and more polishing than stripping pads.

To differentiate the various types of floor polishing pads, most suppliers use the color red to indicate a buffing pad, and black to designate stripping pads. Scrubbing pads usually are colored green, while polishing pads come in white color.

When you want to bring the finish on granite floors to a high shine, you should get granite polishing pads which are specially meant for this purpose. You can also purchase marble polishing pads to perform the same job on marble floors.
