Due to the very special nature of this industry and the character of products on exhibition, the Kielce fair is one of very few events of this kind organised in Poland. This International Fair of Stone and Stone Machinery INTERKAMIE provided the exhibitors and visitors with the best opportunities to receive a necessary update on the current standards and newly launched products.
INTERKAMIE fair is attended by the representatives of stone processing companies, architects, building investors and contractors as well as individual customers – the number of visitors this year amounted to 20 000. Dozens of Polish companies as well as the companies from Italy, Spain and Greece opened their exhibitions stands at the fair.
The most important event which accompanied the fair was the General Convention of the Stone Processing Employers Association and the scientific conference entitled Stone in building constructions organised and prepared by the Świętokrzyskie Division of Polish Geological Institute. The meetings were attended by over 100 participants.
16th International Fair of Stone and Stone Machinery INTERKAMIE created the chance to meet the artists who utilise stone in their artistic work. At the Stone Arena of 130 square metres the cultural-didactic zone was created. Lubosz Karwat, known for his unconventional ideas artists has encouraged the fair guests to work together.
During the event the sculpture – an artistic vision of the newly designed Targi Kielce Congress Centre was created. The work of art, which is three and a half metre tall has been clad in natural stone; and each fair visitor has had their chance to out a little stone of their own. The event organiser has been SParTM.
Another offer of the fair was the Exhibition of Design in Stone contest. The contest organiser was the Nowy Kamieniarz editorial office. The works designed by the students of The Academy of Fine Arts and made by the companies which are the partners of the contest have already been recognised by specialists in Poland and abroad. The functionality of these works and their beauty have been noticed and appreciated by fair institutions all over Europe including the Verona and Nuremberg fair representatives.
